Introduction

Here are some photos of an 8 day Wollemi Canyoning trip done in the week following Christmas 2008. It was a fantastic 8 day trip exploring rarely visited canyons. We did 10 canyons in total, and also explored some pristine and rarely visited gorges in the Wollemi National Park.

Day 1 - 27 Dec 2008

On day one

In the midday sun

We began a steady climb.

Then a route was forged

Into a deep damp gorge

And we entered a rainforest sublime.

Today we drove from Sydney to our starting point and then in the afternoon entered a gorge that neither of us had visited before just as a thunderstorm broke. We wandered through a damp rainforest gorge until we found a good camp site just as the storm passed and the rain stopped.
