The 3 day navigation weekend has completed, although due to injury, 3 people had to pull out on the first day. Danielle then got 1-on-1 navigation training for the remainder of the weekend amid spectacular sunsets, fields of pink flannel flowers, a little canyon, warm sunshine and a fair share of autumn rain! This 3 day navigation weekend is a great opportunity to extend upon what you learn on the popular 2 day navigation weekend. Located in the same general area but taking a different and more varied route, this trip is where you practise and consolidate your navigation skills in navigationally complex terrain and discover magical places along the way.

The only 3 day navigation hike of 2022 has just completed on a rare weekend of beautiful sunny weather! The 3 day navigation hike is held in the same general area as the popular 2 day navigation weekend but takes a different and more varied route venturing deeper into the Wollangambe wilderness. The terrain is a bit more complex and difficult to navigate than on the 2 day trip. The 4 clients had the opportunity to lead long stretches and to plan their route ahead of time. We discussed the route as a team and came up with the best option. Everyone had a fantastic time. Apart from some cold showers on Friday morning, these soon cleared to a glorious weekend. A highly memorable trip enjoyed by all and a great learning experience as well as a fantastic off trail wilderness hike!

The annual SUBW Christmas Dinner Walk to the Coxs River. One of my favourite weekends of the year, a tradition going back to my earliest bushwalking days. This year I took a group of SUBW members for an introductory abseiling session on Saturday morning before we headed down to the river for our relaxing camping weekend on a cool summer evening. A lovely weekend enjoyed by all.
